10th Sept 2016

Places are just £60 per person. (This workshop has very low numbers in each session, and is very materials heavy, hence the slight difference in cost.) To book a place call 07811 460494 or to book online (which includes a £1.50 online booking fee) click here.

Print Club Weekender is a two day luxury screenprinting course that’ll get you printing like a pro! This is a great opportunity to go deeper into the process and would suit anyone who wants to incorporate photography and digital techniques into screenprinting. You will learn how to ‘expose’ a screen using photo emulsion and how to use registration techniques to ensure consistent printing with multiple layers.

Day 1 will focus on the design and preparation of a 4 colour limited edition print. You will be shown how to create stencils and develop designs by hand or digitally using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (to do this you will need to bring a laptop with this software installed and a basic working knowledge of them). You will be shown the techniques and tricks used by many screenprinters – half tone dots, colour separation and CYMK printing, overlays and trapping. You will then be shown how to prepare and expose a screen using photo emulsion.

Day 2 is when the aprons come out and sleeves get rolled up! You'll be shown how to mix ink (using water-based inks) and then how to print. You will also be shown how to register and align screens correctly so that you be able to achieve consistent results when printing multiple layers.

You will need to bring images/ideas to work from to create a 4 colour print. If you wish to work with digital imagery (colour separation, CMYK and half tone dots) you will need a laptop with Adobe Photoshop installed and a basic working knowledge of Photoshop.
